Meet Our Board Member: Richard Grunert

Passionate about serving those in need and improving lives, Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance Board Member Richard Grunert is doing just that. Richard regularly monitors individuals with disabilities at the Lee Memorial and NCH Hospitals. A long-time Salvation Army volunteer, he has served as a Board member here in Naples, as well as in Clinton, Iowa. He currently solicits sponsors to help send children from Immokalee to The Salvation Army’s summer camps. This program encourages kids to learn new skills, make friends, and create lasting memories through impactful childhood experience.  

When it comes to the Immokalee community, Richard knows firsthand about the harsh conditions these children experience when their homes are dilapidated trailers. He tells us, “You can’t believe how excited I am to see the first building going up! Soon some of these children will be living in decent housing.” 

Richard was recently honored as a lifetime Naples Salvation Army Board member.
