Donor Spotlight - Molly Godley

Molly Godley is proud to be a recurring donor to Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance. A retired schoolteacher, Molly started her teaching career in the 1980’s in Immokalee and has been aware of the housing situation for some time. “It wasn’t good back then, and it is much worse since Hurricane Irma hit. Children need space to do their homework, to have a sense of home with their family. And I worry about the girls with strangers boarding in the same hovel.”

Every three months, Molly visits Mision Peniel in Immokalee with other Vanderbilt Presbyterian parishioners to distribute food to needy families. She encourages the leadership of the church to make these visits. “They all need to see the living conditions, and to see that these are close knit families, real people.”

Molly received the Champions for Learning Golden Apple award for her teaching accomplishments. Additionally, she sings in the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Choir and volunteers at the Neighborhood Health Clinic in Naples and the music library at Artis Naples.
