RCMA Lauds The Immokalee Community

Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA) Executive Director Isabel Garcia and her staff are thrilled to see the first Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance building rising from the ground.

Ms. Garcia is a former migrant farmworker who now leads RCMA, which serves 5,500 youngsters in South Florida. She sees RCMA and IFHA as kindred spirits.  “You are working to have people live in safe, affordable housing and we are providing safe educational opportunities for the children so parents can go to work knowing their children are being taken care of properly and being well educated.”

RCMA offers free childcare, dual language early childhood development programs, and quality education in a safe, loving environment. A crown jewel for RCMA is the Immokalee Community Academy, with classes from kindergarten to 8th grade.

At the Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance Wall Signing event in March 2023, Ms. Garcia gave an inspirational talk on the importance of affordable housing to our community’s low-income residents.
