Applications are now being accepted!

The Immokalee Fair Housing Alliance is excited to announce that applications are now being accepted for its soon to open apartment building in Immokalee, providing an opportunity for farmworker and low-income families to secure safe, affordable housing in the community.

As the completion of the first building draws near, IFHA is gearing up to welcome its first tenants. Applications to rent an apartment in the newly constructed building are now available. Individuals can pick up an application in person at B-Hive Flowers & Gifts, located at 720 N 15th St, Immokalee.

To be considered for tenancy, applicants must ensure that their applications are completed in full and returned to the Flower Shop by March 7th at 5pm. The selection process will be based on various factors, including the applicant's salary range and the number of people in their household.

Once applications are received, IFHA will review them thoroughly, with final decisions contingent on eligibility criteria. Selected applicants will then be contacted and scheduled for interviews, during which they will be required to provide relevant documentation such as work papers, identification, and other pertinent reference materials.

A total of sixteen families will be selected for immediate occupancy. Eligible families not selected for immediate occupancy will be placed on a waiting list for future opportunities.

"We are thrilled to offer this opportunity for families in need of safe, affordable, hurricane resistant housing in Immokalee," said Dr. Arol Buntzman, Board Chair of IFHA. "Our goal is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where families can thrive, and we look forward to welcoming our new tenants."

IFHA remains committed to its mission of providing fair housing opportunities for all, and the opening of applications represents a significant step towards achieving this goal.
